About

Welcome! I am so glad you are here! I am Kim, a Licensed Mental Health Counselor Associate in Washington State, an educator at heart and someone who has always been fascinated by people - their stories, their resilience, and the ways our experiences shape how we move through the world.

As a therapist, I am down-to-earth, warm, curious, and collaborative. I truly believe that therapy should be a place where you feel genuinely seen and understood, not judged. There is room for both the hard and the hopeful, the tears and the laughter. My goal is to create a space where you can show up exactly as you are.

One of my favorite parts of counseling is helping people understand the why behind what they are experiencing. Before starting clinical counseling, I spent over 18 years as a school counselor, public school teacher, and homeschool teacher. I used brain-based approaches and social-emotional learning to help students better understand themselves. I am endlessly fascinated by the connection between the brain, the nervous system, and our emotional experiences.

Whether you are navigating anxiety, stress, burnout, life transitions, grief, trauma, parenting challenges, behavioral challenges, or relationship struggles, I’ve got you! I enjoy helping people connect the dots between their experiences, their patterns, and the ways their brains and bodies have learned to respond to the world. Understanding what’s happening beneath the surface often opens the door to meaningful change.

Outside of the therapy office, I am a wife, mom, homeschool educator, gardener, dog lover, and someone who finds peace in nature. My own journey through infertility, special needs parenting, adoption, and caregiving has taught me that life rarely unfolds the way we expect it to and that resilience often grows in places we never would have chosen.

Estuary Wellness & Counseling was inspired by the meeting place between moving waters; a reminder that healing is not about perfection, but learning how to navigate life with greater steadiness, self-compassion, and hope.

If you are carrying a lot, feeling stuck, or simply looking for a place to sort through life’s complexities, I would be honored to walk alongside you. Let’s chat!
