About
Hello! I am Kim. I am so glad you are here!
I’m not sure about you, but it seems that life rarely slows down long enough for us to process what we are carrying. I believe healing happens when people feel safe enough to be fully seen - not judged, rushed, or expected to have everything figured out.
My approach to counseling is compassionate, grounded, and person-centered. I work with individuals (13+) in navigating anxiety, life transitions, parenting challenges, medical trauma, stress, grief, relationship challenges, trauma, and the complexities of everyday life. Together, we will create space to process experiences, build resilience, and move toward greater clarity, connection, and emotional wellness.
Before becoming a LMHCA, I spent over 18 years working in education, school counseling, and advocacy roles with children and families from a wide variety needs and backgrounds. Those experiences deeply shaped the way I approach therapy today — with curiosity, empathy, flexibility, and respect for each person’s unique story.
As both a mental health professional and parent, I understand that life rarely unfolds in neat or predictable ways. Many people carry invisible burdens while trying their best to care for others, hold families together, navigate uncertainty, or simply make it through difficult seasons. Therapy can offer a place to slow down, feel supported, and begin healing at your own pace.
My work is trauma-informed and rooted in authentic human connection. I draw from person-centered therapy, cognitive behavioral approaches, mindfulness, nervous system awareness, and relational therapy while tailoring sessions to the needs of each individual.
In my personal life, you can often find me in the garden, on a hiking trail with my family, snuggling my giant dogs, or trying to keep up with my teenage son’s adaptive sports.
Estuary Wellness & Counseling was inspired by the meeting place between moving waters; a reminder that healing is not about perfection, but learning how to navigate life with greater steadiness, self-compassion, and hope.
I look forward to hearing your story!
